A perfect day
The last town we got to on the coast was Positano. It is a town that is laid out on terraces dug into the steep cliffs. It looks like a stage scene, with buildings which appear to be stacked on top of one another. The sun sparkling on the sea, looked like diamonds. We stopped at a little road side market and got some rolls and ham and cheese to eat on the way back home.

Oops....used the wrong word
I finally saw our landlords after they have been on vacation all summer. The sisters oven hasn't worked all summer so I was happy to see our common landlords and tell them about the oven. Paul wasn't with me so I blundered along in my poor Italian. Unfortunately I used the wrong word. Instead of saying, " il furno non รจ funziona" i used the wrong word for oven. I said, "inferno" which means hell instead of furno. No wonder Quinto looked at me with a puzzled look when I told him that the hell does not work at the sisters apartment.
Lunch in Pisciotta
We stopped for lunch at a beautiful restaurant overlooking the Mediteranean Sea. It was owned and operated by a man and his wife who were in their 70's. She does all the cooking and he is the waiter. We had a yummy lunch with fresh fish caught right out front.
Our 4th P-Day
We have been in Italy now for 7 months. Hard to believe. We decided that we should take more P-days. We have only had 3 so far; one we hiked Vesuvius, one we walked around Paestum, and one day we took a boat ride and toured the Amalfi Coast. So yesterday, we drove the Costiera Cilentana and had a very relaxing and enjoyable day. There was a very cool archeological site up on a small hill we drove by. And there were a million of these prickly pears that grow on cacti everywhere. Paul said they are edible but he doesn't care for their taste. The views of the Sea from these high mountain roads were breathtaking. The road to Hana in Maui is tame and straight compared to the curves and steepness of the drive down the Costiera Cilentana. We passed a part of the road which had totally dropped out of site and left a huge gaping hole. I wish I had taken a picture, but I was glad to get past it. The hole was as big as a house. Thank goodness they had traffic cones and a bit of yellow tape to mark the perimeter of the hole!
Anyway, we had a wonderful day, and I was reminded again how blessed we are to live here for this short time and experience the beautiful creations of our Father in Heaven.
D&C 104:14: And I The Lord stretched out the heavens, and built the earth, my very
handiwork, and all things therein are mine.

Costliera Cilentana
Paul and I decided to take a P-Day afternoon and go for a drive. We heard that the coast south of
Salerno was very beautiful and was called "Coastiera Cilentana". It is not as famous as the Amalfi Coast, but that it was very beautiful too. So we headed south and had a nice drive. We stopped at a little town called Pisciotta.

One of those days
I am not sure if I should just go back to bed or what today. I started out pretty good, but it has gone downhill since. The first thing I do in the morning is open the French doors out onto the living room balcony and also to the kitchen patio. Then I water the plants outside on both of those patios. Well this morning , as I went to water the plant on the kitchen balcony, I really had a blond moment. Instead of watering the plant, I lifted my food scraps trash can lid, and poured 2 quarts of water into the trash! We don't have garbage disposals here so we have a seperate trash can for food scraps. We set it out three nights a week to be gathered by the trash pick up men in the early morning.
They have these cute little mini garbage trucks that come to the apartment complexes and after they collect the trash they drive to a central point and dump into a larger garbage truck.
Anyway, back to my pazzo (crazy) morning. I decided to be a nice wife and make Paul some oatmeal this morning. I got it all made and then I opened up the brown sugar canister, which had a new butcher knife on top and it fell down in back of the kitchen counter between the wall and the counter, where there was no way to get at it. I told Paul, and he simply came in and pulled out the whole counter from the wall and retrieved the knife. Ok, so now I put the brown sugar on our cereal and pour the milk and think that the oatmeal looks very strange. I didn't have my glasses on, so I get them on and look and discover that I have put brown rice on the top of our oatmeal, and not brown sugar at all! What a waste. S I made peach smoothies instead and now I am at the church to use their Internet because our modem is no longer working......and after walking over here I discovered that I forgot my glasses, so I can not even see where I have made typing errors. But just know that it has been that kind of a day.
