Day #3

Sunday was a beautiful day.  After breakfast we all went to church.  I was so happy that I could be teaching in Primary this week.  We had a lesson about Moses delivering then.children of Israel from Egypt.  We discussed the 10 miracles that happened because of the power of God.  I made some play dough earlier in the week, and all the kids got some to sculpt the 10 plagues.  We had a new little girl from Brazil, who has just come for the first time.  She doesn't speak Italian yet, so we had fun learning some of the Portugese words for the seven plagues.  I only remember that frog is "Sapo."

If you look closely you can see Isabel's mosquito and dead fish and grasshopper above and Charlotte's yellow fish, green grasshopper, and purple frog.  We had lots of fun.

I sat by the girls during sacrament meeting.  During the sacrament, after Isabel took a piece of bread, (which is quite dense crusty Italian bread) and put it in her mouth, she quietly asked me if this was real bread.  I said it was Italian bread, and she quickly stopped chewing it and tucked it in the side of her mouth where I know from past experiences, that she will store unwanted food there, for hours.  I quickly added, that it is just like homemade American bread that is delicious.  She decided to try it and ended up swallowing it along with her water that arrived soon afterwards!

After church we got a few pictures too.

We had one of our favorite English course students, and good friend Martina, come over for Sunday dinner.  She brought some yummy pasta al forno, which means pasta baked in the oven.

The pasta was yummy.  It was made with both bescimela sauce and ricotta cheese along with a little ham.  We all enjoyed it, except, Isabel who wouldn't try it!

After lunch and a bit of a rest, we took Roland and Lizzy and the girls up to our favorite nearby mountain top, where there is an old medievil castle.  It was kind of foggy and that made it seem like a magical experience.  I had never made it to the top before, but Isabel said that she was going and that together we could do it.  So I tried it, and I made it.  I was pretty excited.  The views were all covered in  a whispy  blowing in and out fog.  There were beautiful cows along the way.  We saw a bunch of small ponies and their tiny baby ponies.  We had fun imagining which rooms were the princess's rooms and where the King and Queen had their room.  This day was truly a tender mercy day.  We have so many priceless memories etched in our hearts.

In the above picture we are getting ready to start our hike.  We saw the miniature ponies pictured in the background.

We are on the overlook where we can see Battipaglia below and even we can see out to the Mediterranean Sea.

We are at the base of the mountain that has ruins of an old medievil castle on top.  You can see the cows in the background.

This is princess Isabella's bedroom!

It was a beautiful day.  We all loved it.
